dead ceo functions as a tiny record label, attempting to put out truly unique music media/art objects. See the releases section for the handful of dead ceo releases. The intention is not to let the forces within music distribution pre-determine what sort of objects are created.

dead ceo has also existed as a (very) small distributor for interesting sound projects primarily coming out of Chicago. Check out the catalog section of this site for a selection of cds, cdrs, text, etc. primarily focusing on noise, free improvisation, laptop minimalism, avant-rock, etc..

Currently, dead ceo is not actively adding releases to the catalog although special objects are always considered. Hopefully, in the future, this site will be used to house more MP3s and expand into more interesting media objects (away from cds, cd-rs, etc.).

This year has included some fantastic releases including Sound Writing, an edition of 60 lathe-cut records, and Uncle Woody Sullender's Nothing is Certain but Death, a cd of banjo improvisations.
